As part of the Cambium Square development, the square outside South Cambridgeshire District Council offices is being redesigned to create a larger, more usable civic space for residents, office-workers, passers-by and visitors.
The design will feature two distinctive areas. A predominantly hard-surfaced space will provide flexibility for a variety of activities and events, including opportunities for mobile vendors or pop-up stalls. Alongside this, a softer landscaped area will introduce a more playful space, incorporating existing trees within the design and new clusters of planting to define the southern edge.
Together, these spaces will create a welcoming and adaptable civic environment at the heart of the development.
