At the heart of Cambium Square’s landscape vision will be the Foraging Route, a green, traffic-free corridor connecting Lower Cambourne and West Cambourne.
Designed to encourage walking and cycling, the route will bring residents closer to nature through edible planting, play spaces and places to pause.
A carefully curated mix of fruits, nuts, berries, herbs and flowers will provide seasonal interest and support biodiversity. From crab apples and cobnuts to wild garlic, strawberries and blackberries, residents and visitors will be encouraged to explore and enjoy the landscape along the way.
Thoughtfully placed seating and rest points will offer spaces to stop, relax and connect with the surroundings.
More than simply a route, the Foraging Route will support healthier lifestyles, strengthen community connections and create a distinctive landscape at the heart of Cambium Square.
